As part of our Safer Internet Day activities, KS2 have been completing quizzes to help them make sensible choices when online. I have been using Kahoot, an excellent website for setting quizzes which you can complete on tablets, phones or computers.
The year 3/4 quiz is based on ‘The Adventures of Kara, Winston and the Smart Crew’, an excellent series of short videos which teachers children the SMART rules of internet safety. You can try the quiz yourself by clicking on the link below.
The year 5/6 quiz includes some of the questions from the year 3/4 quiz, but without the videos to help answer them. There are additional questions prompted by this CEOP video. I have included a link rather than embedding the video, as the themes maybe upsetting for some younger children. You can try the quiz by clicking on the link below.
The best way for children to stay safe online is for parents and carers to maintain a dialogue with them. I would strongly advise you to visit the UK Safer Internet Centre, and in particular the pages for parents and carers where you can find advice and guidance on a variety of internet safety issues including ISP settings, social network privacy settings and gaming.
If you have ay questions or concerns, please come and see me in school.
Please see below the presentation from this morning’s Safer Internet Day workshop. There is also a link to further information below:
This is a great site which gives you advice on ISP settings, games, social networks and technology in general.
